Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to speak to Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region on Tuesday. He stated that he consulted soldiers at the military base of the first unit of the National Guard of Ukraine Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya sector, a location approximately 20km from the focal point.

Intense Circumstances in Pokrovsk

Geospatial data from a national effort showed that Russian forces had pushed further into Pokrovsk and its environs, though significant areas lacked clear dominance by both forces. The conditions are severe, with updates indicating that opposition troops were establishing defenses and strengthening posts in various sectors.

Opposition armies are making progress in the Pokrovsk direction and seem to be functioning with increasing comfort within the city proper.

Research institutes commented that defense units had freed a large area of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya direction, on the eastern edge of the Pokrovsk effort.

Kyiv's Long-Range Assaults Deep Inside the Federation

Ukrainian long-range drones targeted a production facility approximately 1,300km inside Russia at the location. Local officials confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that resulted in structural damage to partially collapse, adding that the origin of the detonation was not known. The national defense command stated there was considerable damage to the plant.

Defense units confirmed attacking a petroleum facility at the city in the Russian region in central Russia. The level of destruction was under evaluation. The local official confirmed an attack by multiple unmanned aircraft near the refinery.

Russian Defense Legal Adjustments

Russian military reservists will now have to protect fuel facilities against unmanned assaults after Vladimir Putin approved legislation on the weekday expanding their participation in the military campaign. The Russian ruler also enacted a decree authorizing recruitment all year round whereas previously it was possible only during restricted intervals in autumn and spring. Russian law prohibits recruits from being deployed to combat, but after their defense commitment they enter Russia's reserves, placing them in danger of being sent to war.

Significant armed forces costs have also started to pressure the national finances, with Moscow raising taxes to plug a rising deficit.

Ukrainian Leader's Calls for Global Assistance

The national leader urged the US to stay receptive to providing Ukraine with far-reaching military equipment. Addressing a European Union summit from the conflict zone, the national leader also demanded more global measures on the federation – including on Russia's gas and nuclear sectors – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU by the end of the 2020s.

International Support and Diplomatic Updates

Germany plans to raise its military aid to Ukraine by a substantial amount next year to about 11.5 billion euros, the treasury department in Berlin said on Tuesday. This incorporates, among other things, heavy weapons, drones, armoured vehicles and the exchange of missile defense equipment.

Scandinavian arms producer Nammo has signed a letter of intent with a national production company to manufacture, create and distribute munitions in the country.
